Agents
from the Dreisberger Embassy steal a Top Secret British
micro-computer and attempt to fly it out of the country
concealed in a diplomatic bag. Matthew is put to work to force
the plane back to a small airfield where Father Unwin is on hand
with the Minimiser to make the Dreisberger Ambassador an offer
he can't refuse. On the way to the airfield, the padre gets a
police escort after making the officers an offer they can't
understand.
Stanspotting:
7 - as well as the
Gabriel driving scenes, there are also a good few long shots of
him walking around Heathrow and dressed in workman overalls.
Unwinese-a-nometer:
9 - a superb exchange between Stanley and a bewildered copper
(just listen to his reactions -
audio clip). Unfortunately, this was the very
moment that Lew Grade decided to cancel the series.

A
Question of Miracles

Mrs
Appleby's Balti Chicken Jalfrezi certainly hit the

Two
British-engineered desalination plants blow up mysteriously
after just 250 hours online. Is it bad workmanship or sabotage?
A multi-million pound contract is at stake so Father Unwin and
Matthew are dispatched to a third plant to find out. On the way,
they're helped out by BISHOP agent Blake, a thinly disguised
(and bespectacled) reappearance by the original Captain Scarlet puppet.
Bizarrely, he comes back to life in this one as well.
Stanspotting:
4
- not really much
evident, other than the usual driving shots.
Unwinese-a-nometer:
7 - a brief interchange about Gabriel's gearbox with a keen car
nut (sporting a highly improbable moustache), then a bemusing
riff on the Last Rites. top

Sir
Humphrey was quickly tiring of Grey's 'find the envelope'
game
|
Masterspy
and all-round traitor George Grey is sprung from
a maximum security prison by a team financed by bad egg and big
house owner Sir Humphrey Burton. The BISHOP boys are contracted
to get their man back before he's traded off to the enemy.
Meanwhile, Mrs Appleby is forced to get up and make an early
breakfast while still being completely bewildered by Stanley's
out-loud gnomic introspections.
Stanspotting:
6
- some good shots
walking to and away from Sir Humphrey's country pile.
Unwinese-a-nometer:
5 - a few bits during a meeting with Sir Humph interspersed to
cover for his asides to Matthew. top
The
Feathered Spies

Stansted's
new hi-tech terminal drew gasps from an admiring
crowd
|
International
villain De
Groot is blackmailing Masden, a bird-keeping
businessman, into taking photos of a Top Secret
plane, the XK4. But how exactly is Masden doing it? De Groot
then hatches a plan to destroy the plane so Stanley and Matthew
spring into action to save the day. Now, how are Masden's
pigeons, some miniature cameras and a chunk of explosive
connected? Hmmm....
Stanspotting:
3
- just a quick shot of Stan knocking on Masden's
door..
Unwinese-a-nometer:
5 - a lecture on the perils of speeding to a confused
Masden. top

Train to Bufflers Halt
 |
The
padre made a point of never buying duvets from
strangers
|
After
failing to knock off a security van carrying a million
pounds in used notes, thieves turn their attention to the next
stage of the cargo's journey - by train down to London. Fearing
the worst, BISHOP wangles a ride for our intrepid lads who are
unwittingly diverted to Buffler's Halt. Features another
appearance by that Captain Scarlet bloke.
Stanspotting:
0
- invisibly in the absentlode.
Unwinese-a-nometer:
4 - some choice admonishment
after Matthew tries to turn a poker game to the Reverend's
favour. top

The
G9 satellite - a crucial part of the western early warning
system - has wandered off-course but its orbit can only be
corrected by radio contact within a critical four minute window.
But who's jamming the signal and how did they know the exact
time and frequency? The answer seems to lie somewhere between
the fifteenth hole and an apparently disused clubhouse.
Stanspotting:
6
- a couple of sequences with Stanley all tweed'n
plus foury in the leggit.
Unwinese-a-nometer:
5 - a few golfing tips which appear to make as much
sense as they do in English. top
